All CNC staff decided to wear their finest Christmas jumpers in for a day to raise some money towards St Barnabas House, a local independent charitable hospice located in Worthing, West Sussex. This was first opened in 1973 by a local anaesthetist, Dr Francis Gusterson.
St Barnabas services include:
20 bed In-Patient Unit
Day Hospice with 18 places
Community Palliative Care Team
Family Services Team
Education Department
Hospice at Home
The St Barnabas hospice team consists of nurses, doctors, social workers, counsellors, a Chaplain, physiotherapists, complementary therapists, an Artist-in-Residence, the Hospice at Home team and a dedicated band of friendly volunteers.
This particular charity is very close to home for a couple of CNC employees who have seen close relatives benefit from its care services in recent years, it’s Technical Services Director, Graham Lind commented “St Barnabas were absolutely fantastic helping my family with my Mum earlier in 2015 when she was admitted for end of life care after fighting pancreatic cancer for many months”.
CNC also conduct an annual charity Golf Day with Bennett Griffin, the next event will take place at Hill barn Golf Club on the 10th June 2016, with many customers expected to attend.
