This guide is intended to show you how to setup multiple multifactor authentications for Microsoft 365. This is often a requirement for Self Service password reset, as per this guide.
First you will need to browse to https://office.com and login with your normal 365 email & password.
If you have not setup at least two methods of authentication and your company requires it, you will be presented with a screen like this.
You will now be required to enter a mobile phone number that will be used if you ever need to reset your password.
Once setup this will present your methods of multifactor authentication available to you
By browsing and logging into https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info you can then see how many and which numbers / emails / devices you currently have setup for multifactor authentication
From here you can remove old devices protecting your account.
If you want to add any more methods to better protect yourself, or prepare for your company enforcing at least two methods as a requirement you can do this by clicking on ‘Add sign-in method’ and repeating the process.
Now you’ve setup multiple forms of multifactor authentication protecting your account for cyber threats even further.
